Technology & Comfort

Viking’s expedition ships have a dynamic positioning mode that enables them to float in place when anchoring is not an option, providing guests with a more comfortable experience on the water. Furthermore, Viking’s ships have both fin stabilizers that reduce rolling while sailing and a U-tank stabilizer that decreases rolling by about 50% when the ships are not moving.

Sized for Discovery

Viking’s expedition ships are perfectly sized for expeditions: they are small enough to navigate remote areas, yet large enough to provide speed, superior handling, and stability in the toughest seas. This is the latest in their legacy of award-winning ships including our Viking Longships®, built for the rivers in Europe, and ocean ships, designed to fit in ports where larger ships can’t fit.
